Introduction

Content

- Food safety & hygiene
- Organising your coffee workstation (mise en place
- Selecting and grinding coffee beans
- Advise customers and take espresso coffee orders
- Extract and monitor the quality of espresso
- Undertake the milk texturing process
- Serve espresso coffee beverages
- Clean espresso equipment
Learning Methods
Two-day workshop generally from 9am — 4pm with assessment questions to be completed as homework, which contributes towards your overall assessment.Training can be conducted on site at your school, workplace or at IIFP Skill Centre (91 John Street Salisbury)For those students seeking SACE CREDITS, successful completion equates to 5 SACE STAGE 1 CREDITS
Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital requirementsThere are no academic or work experience-based requirements necessary prior to enrolling, however:Students will also be required to acknowledge that they are able to:
- Students must possess basic skills in written and verbal English
- Students must be able to navigate online, and use basic technology
- Students must possess a Unique Student Identifier (USI). You can obtain a new USI or find an existing one from usi.gov.au.
- read and interpret food safety programs, policies, procedures and flow charts that identify critical control points
- complete documentation for monitoring food safety
- calibrate and use a temperature probe and calculate timings
- coordinate different food handling tasks to take account of food safety issues
